Cody Paty once stated that our employee of the month has an “others” mindset. Jose serves the staff as much as he serves the patients. He has concern for all areas of the rehab center and still thrives in his own role. Cody said that Jose is one of the best leaders in his department and that he is well respected by everyone.
In his younger days, this valued employee was a customer service associate, he has cashed checks, made shoe sales, and was once a sandwich maker. He graduated from Roscoe Collegiate High School in 2013 and from Angelo State with a bachelor’s degree in 2016. He continued at ASU to receive his doctorate in 2019. This doctor is also married to a doctor. We all recognize and know that Jose is a physical therapist. That’s his career choice. But today, we show him appreciation for who he is as an individual.
According to his nomination, Jose has been invaluable to rehab for many years. It reads that he goes out of his way to make sure patients have what they need. He is consistently adjusting his schedule to accommodate his patient’s work schedules because he knows they need therapy and would not come in any other way. Jose takes time with the new employees to help them gain confidence in the workings of the department. He gives each patient his full attention. Jose is an excellent therapist, but he is an even better person, employee, and co-worker. He does all of this with a smile and deep humility. I feel he exemplifies what we are trying to represent as a hospital.
So, thank you Jose, for all your efforts – both big and small. It hasn’t gone unnoticed.
