Charlene exemplifies what it means to go above and beyond—regularly and consistently. Her willingness to help in any way she can is unmatched, and when she’s recognized, it’s because she has exceeded her already high standard of excellence.
Over the past year, we’ve faced numerous challenges with the therapy pool, and Charlene has taken on countless "extra" responsibilities. She keeps meticulous track of the technicians who come and go, as well as their assessments—especially when management isn’t available. Her deep understanding of the pool's functionality and its importance to our work makes her an invaluable resource when outside techs have questions. Charlene has sacrificed her own time on multiple weekends to ensure pumps are turned on or off as needed. She comes in early, stays late, and steps up whenever we’re short-handed or when someone requires assistance. Her dedication to clear communication is remarkable. When changes are made to policies affecting aides in the rehab department, Charlene takes the time to ensure everyone is informed and understands how the changes impact their roles. If someone misses or misunderstands information, she explains it until there is clarity. Charlene also seamlessly floats between Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy, lending her support wherever it’s needed. She pays attention to the challenges her colleagues face and offers help without hesitation. Whether it’s for staff, patients, or the hospital as a whole, Charlene is always ready to step in and contribute.
She truly embodies the definition of an invaluable employee and an exceptional person.
