I was born and raised in Roscoe, TX. I graduated from South Plains College in Levelland, TX with my associates degree RN at the age of 21. I started out my nursing career in Lubbock as a Labor and Delivery Nurse. I worked in this specialty for about the first 7 years of my career. I married my husband, who is also from Roscoe, and we moved to the Dallas area. We made the choice to move back home when it was close to time for our oldest daughter to start school. We wanted to raise our children in the same small-town way we were raised. I came to work at RPMH in the OR as a circulator, and it was my first surgery job of my career. I fell in love with surgery and with RPMH! Working here is truly like working with family. Now, almost 10 years later, my husband and I have 3 busy kids, I have obtained my bachelor’s degree in nursing from University of Texas at Arlington, and I have been the Director of Surgery for a little over 5 years. It gives me great joy to lead this department and help make it the best it can be for our community!
