I moved to Sweetwater in the summer of 1978 when my father was transferred here. I grew up here and graduated from Sweetwater High School. I started college at Abilene Christian University and spent my summers working as a nurse aide on Med/surg here at Rolling Plains. My father’s philosophy was that he wanted to make sure I could handle “the dirty work as well as the exciting stuff” before he invested too much money on my education. I graduated from Methodist School of Nursing and worked 3 years in Lubbock with dialysis and kidney transplant patients. I then moved back to Sweetwater with my family and began working nights in ICU here. After 2 years I went to work in Anson at a nursing home but returned to RPMH after 1 year. I’ve worked as charge nurse on med/surg, staff nurse in ER, ICU staff nurse, PACU nurse, OR circulator, and Nurse manager for the OR for 10 years. I now work as assistant nurse manager for ICU-which is my passion. I spent 2 years as a clinical missionary in Kenya as well. I obtained my BSN from Western Governor’s University in 2021 and am currently working to get my Master’s degree.
