It's Forensic Nursing Week November 6-12 and we want to shine the spotlight on our newest SANE Nurse Jo Anne Arellano. A Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) is a Registered Nurse who has received special training so that s/he can provide comprehensive care to sexual assault victims. In addition, she is able to conduct a forensic exam and may provide expert testimony if a case goes to trial. “Jo Anne Arellano has made sacrifices to attend the lengthy and arduous didactic training to attain her SANE certification through the Office of the Attorney General and serve her community while caring for patients. She is in the clinical phase of her training at this time. While completing her training, she has also kept a full-time schedule in the Emergency Room here at RPMH.” (Courtney Garcia, RN CA-CP SANE) This is your week Jo Anne! Thank you!
