Daisy Award Winner is Med/Surg Nurse, Jessica Nolan

Jessica Nolan went from nurse to party planner in a true act of compassion.

Jessica was nominated for this award by a coworker:

We have a patient who is disabled from a birth injury. He can say some words but is very limited and confined to a bed. While he comes frequently, he does not have visitors. Jessica noted his birthday and stopped before work to purchase party supplies: a birthday hat, a sign for the door, and balloons. My office is directly across from the patient room. I overheard Jessica lovingly placing his ballons in his view, and explaining how everything was just for him. You could hear the excitement in his voice as he watched the balloons sway in the breeze of the AC. Later that night, she returned to his room and quietly sang him happy birthday. Jessica exhibits all the qualities that only the best nurses have. She exhibits the pure love of Christ in her actions and deeds. This act deeply touched me and inspired me to be better. I'm so proud to work with Jessica. She is an inspiration to us all.
